| Operating Principle of IRS Rotary Blower2 rotors rotate in opposite directions inside cylinder so there is still a little space between the inner of cylinder and rotors, preventing contact each other when rotating. Rotors are driven by gear outside the casing. The gas (air) trapped between the casing and rotors will be transported from the suction port to the discharge port. The gas (air) is pushed out from the discharge port to outside the casing as shown by the arrow. |

History of Rotary Blower
The Roots Blowers / Compressors, named after initial patent owner of LOBE shape , Mr. Roots, are widely known for over 130 years.
Though the blowers had already been prodced in Japan before WWII, the need of the blowers accelerated in earnest after the war. Each manufacture established produce plans in detail. Generally, a billion industry blossomed into a ten billion business.
The formal production name in Japan are "Rotary Blower" and "Vacuum Pump (Roots type)". There are 2-Lobed and 3-Lobed type of blowers. Although the design of Lobed-shapes changes between each manufacture, it does not make much difference.
The simple structure with 2 rotors makes the blower easy to handle. The features such as oil free make the blowers work as power source to transport air for food, agitation in fire pit, cement, wheat flour, grain, etc.
Since 1948, by pouring water into the casing's hole, the new technology with better efficiency and higher vacuum has been developed. The vacuum pump which adsorbs water from each roller of paper machine creats an epoch-making application.
To improve safety, health, and environment in coal mine, the vacuum pump which can suck methane gas is deviced. It also help to prevent risks of explosions in cole mine.
The improvement and reliability of mechanical seals for shaft seals make it much safer and easier to handle gases, so the demand in petrochemistry industry grow significantly, laying the fundation for Gas Blowers and Vacuum Pumps today.
